Ok. Hopefully someone can help me out here.

I have a Dell Latitude laptop, running Windoxs XP Pro (used for work).

At home, i have a MAC running OS X, which can access the internet from an ethernet connection to an Airport Base Station.

Goal: Being able to extract files from the MAC, to my laptop, via a wireless connection.....

Am I dreaming, or is there a possibility of having this accomplished?

In need of help before I start going on a hardware throwing rampage,

V

1. Both laptops are on the same network? If yes, see #2, if no, see #3.
2. Use Windows file sharing. There are options for it in Mac OS X 10.2 and beyond. In the finder, click on go at the top and there should be a server option in there somewhere (My iBook is at home and I'm not ;)).
3. Use scp. Just enable the SSHd on the Mac OS X system and you should be fine.

Here is another problem I am having. My laptop (XP Pro) is using a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter. I have a PowerMAC G4 running OS X panther (not laptop), connected to the airport base station via an ethernet cable.

I set up my Airport base station with little, to no, security for the wireless network, just to see if my laptop could detect and connect to it.

In my wireless network properties on my XP laptop, the wireless network is listed under my preferred networks, but has the little red X next to it. When I click on refresh, it then shows the "signal tower" icon next to it, but doesn't list it in the available networks box so that I can connect.

In my base station, I allowed wireless clients to connect, and on my MAC, I allowed Windows to connect. Anything else that I could be missing??

Thanks again,
V
