XP keeps reverting to Luna

Using XP SP2.

On the "appearance" tab of display properties, under "Windows and buttons" I choose Windows Classic style, but many times after a re-boot it has reverted to Windows XP style.

I have tried changing my group policy as shown HERE but it does not prevent this from happening.

Any ideas?

Are you using 3rd party theme software?

Nope. Never used any themes, just want the classic look.

Try opening services.msc and disabling the Themes service. Then wait a few days and see if the issue occurs.
