XP issues, or PC issues?

I'd really like to know why....

- when I open "My Computer" I have to click "Folders" at the top before I can see the folder tree, even tho I've asked Windows to remember my preference and do it differently

- I hear a sound every time I close a web page, and can it be turned off?

- links in OE messages must now be copied and pasted instead of being clickable - has there been some "security update" that forces this?

1. I don't think you can make the folder tree "stick" when opening My Computer. Create a shortcut to "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e" if you want to open explorer with the folder tree.

2. Yes. Control Panel / Sound and Audio Device. Under the Sound Tab, scroll down until you see Windows Explorer and change "Start Navigation" to None.

3. What browser are you using?

I'm using IE.

Not sure what those % signs mean in your suggestion #1. I'm just dumb....

#2, stops the click when I open a page, too. I just want stop the sound when I close one. I saw a "Complete navigation" option there, and it's already set to None, yet there is still a sound when closing a page.
