XP Installation Woes

I have been formatting, and re-installing XP for the last two hours on this guys computer and the screen you usually see when you dual-boot comes up with:

Microsoft Windows XP Home
Microsoft Windows XP Home
Microsoft Windows XP Home

and you have to pick one from the list. im' pretty sure after this install a fourth one will show... how do i get rid of them?

did you delete the partition that you had XP on? If not, try deleting the partition and re-partitioning it and install XP....just an idea

If the installation works fine you can disable the startup menu. Go to system properties -> Advanced -> Startup.

edit: that might not be an option in XP home. If not you can edit boot.ini, just erase the other installations from the list.

Delete the other OSes in the boot.ini file. Make sure you don't actually have 3 complete installations too. That would be a terrible mess!

yeah i got that mess figured out... it wasn't three seperate installations, it was just a messed up boot.ini

tank you guys
