When I do a fresh install of XP Pro I get these read file errors. It sais something like xxxx file did copy correctly. It did this everytime and not always with the same files. I've done 2 reformat and reinstalls once using NTFS and the last time using FAT32. I got the same errors both times. What i did was hit the retry but a thosand times till it copied. I'm not sure if this messed up my installation or not but I get crashes in Internet Explorer it seems at least once a day. Its usually when I click something in Internet Explorer like the back button. I'm running a dual boot with Windows 98 and I havent had any problems there. I think I'm running IE 5.0 in 98.

I used to get that same problem when I would install Win2k, and found out that once, I had a hard drive going out, and the second time, I had a burned copy of Win2k and it had like a built in timer on the cd and it would install up to 99%, and would not install the ntkernel.exe file. I would run scandisk to mark any bad sectors on the disk and then reinstall XP again, from inside XP.
