XP installation problem

Im installing XP on my new Shuttle rig. Installation halts when it comes to the Network Installation segment. Nothing freezes, it just doesnt go any further. The status bar is stuck at about 25%. i let it run for about 2 hours and it was still stuck at the same place.

I remember this happening before on another rig i had, but dont remember how i fixed it. I think it should be an easy fix. just dont know what it is.

any suggestions?
 
Do you have another operating system CD that you can try, to see if the problem may be in the CD you are using (may have a defect). First thing, clean your CD drive. Is CD drive brand new or coming over from another system ?
