XP Installation Date

Where can I find the installation date for Windows XP? I used regedit and looked in the same place where NT stores it, but the installation date is a bunch of funky characters.

Look at the root of your C partition. Usually the dates on the files and folders are from the date that they were created. Should give you a pretty good idea of when it was installed.

yup, look at the properties of the windows folder & you'll see the date it was created.

Type in "systeminfo" from a command prompt (start/run/cmd/systeminfo)

There is a file in your Windows folder called setupapi.log. The first entry will tell you when you installed.
