XP Install Question

I have a new system I built and whenever I try to install XP it freezes at 58% completion of copying the installation files. Any idea what this could be? The only thing I have been able to find is that it may be a memory problem.
 
If you suspect memory try a memtest86 bootable CD. Also, have you checked the disc (media) or the drive itself?
 
I don't know if this is your problem, but after purchasing a new Intel badaxe I had to use my XP slipstream CD which I had created with SP2 on the CD. Whenever I tried using the original CD, XP would not install.

To find out how to create a slipstream CD search for "windows XP slipstream sp2" on Google.

or just download Nlite, as that's the best slipstream solution I have seen (I used to slipstream by hand)

Do a Google for memtest86 and you'll find it. Download it and burn the .iso to CD. It makes a bootable CD that you just plop in the drive and power on the system. You'll see it autorun and autolaunch. It runs until you stop it by the way.
 
The version of XP I have supposedly has SP2. Would slipstreaming still work? Also, assuming the memory tests OK, is there any thing else it could be? I am trying to figure out all possible fixes so when I get home, I don't have to do any more research.
