I am repartioning and doing a clean install of windows on my HP notebook and am getting hung up during the GUI phase of the install. After all the files are copied and I select typical instilation the install program does its work and then reboots normally, like it does everytime you install windows. But, instead of picking up where it left of, i get a "press any key to boot from disc...then it will say "Error loading Operating System" if i dont boot from disc. If I reboot on this screen I either get the same message or I get a black screen with no prompt or message or anything? My only guess is that my Hard Drive is F'd up. Any help would be highly appricaited.

Eject the XP disc from your CD drive and just replace it when prompted.
