XP install crashing

Getting blue screens of death in XP install to new machine. Also, certain files on disk fail copy a few times, but can bulldog my way through them by hitting enter key. Crash occurs each time between 20-90% of copy files process.

Any ideas?

First idea is bad RAM.

Will underclocking it help?

Possibly, or trying diff ram.
