XP - how to delete all network stuff

not much is working on my network (3 computers) on XP pro. I want to delete the workgroup. I can't figure out how. And delete everything else network related and recreate them again. How do I do this?

Thanks.

Well, there is no way to "DELETE" a workgroup. To get rid of it and not see it you need to take all of the computers and join them to a new workgroup. As for deleting your setup its pretty tough to do as all of your settings are stored on each computer. What exactly is wrong and what are you trying to do?

I'm just taking a stab in the dark since you didn't post the problems you are having.

Anyhow on windows xp you need all xp machines to have the user name and password on each machine. Example machine 1 has a user named james. James has t be entered into the users of all of the machines that he needs access to.

I hope this helps.

I never heard of that. I thought you just had to have same workgroup name. But I tried that just now. I tried accessing the internet from the same user name on one computer that exists as a user on the Host computer. I can access files on each other, but cannot share the internet. (This is XP Pro). on the computer that does not have the direct DSL connection, but is trying to share the connection, I can see in "Network Connections" "Internet Gateway", the icon says "enabled". If I click on it, it says I have a 1.4 mps connection and shows bytes transfered in both directions, but I cannot use the internet.

Any ideas??

Do you have the internet connection sharing setup on all of your computers? I don't remember how to start it look it up in help. You have to have a program running on the computer that has the dsl. then the setup wizard will setup a floppy to take to the other computers on the network and it will make the correct browser settings.
