XP - How do I get rid of "files stored on this computer"

When I open My computer there is a section unto itself called "files stored on this computer." I realllllly want to get rid of it and the folders in that section. I have looked through the registry but could not find anything that I thought was usefull. I have also tried the "gpedit.msc" to no avail.

Someone please tell me there is a solution.

I went through the steps outlined in "read this 1st" to get rid of "shared documents" folder. There is no registry entry for "my computer" under "name space."

Thanks mucho

There is and it's easy. 😉

Download Powertoys for XP and use Tweak UI. You need to uncheck "files stored on this computer" under My Computer.
