I'm trying to install a foxxconn cr-g2h part 5503002 internal usb2.0 memory card reader in my main computer. Windows will not auto recognize. It will auto recognize and assign drives in a different computer. I've searched for drivers, inf's etc and can't find anything. Can anyone recommend a fix or the next step?

I assume you have it plugged into a USB header on the Motherboard, right? Is that USB header turned on in BIOS?

edit: Oh, and are you sure you got the pin out right? I know that gigabyte, for example, uses a different pin out than the USB standard.

You may have the USB cables attached incorrectly - make sure you orient the cables correctly when you connect to the mobo header, or you could end up with a dead header or worse.

I tried two onboard usb headers and one usb header on a usb/pci card. None worked on this computer. The internal cable is keyed and is pinned correct. I have the exact same arrangement in a different one and it works fine. I tried the headers with extensions to my front/rear and they work for any usb device plugged in.

I guess I could reframe the question to: How or Where can I get the .INF for the foxconn reader when windows can't find it. I googled and can't find anything, searched Microsoft.com and can't find what to do (bit of a noob here) looked on foxconn website and can't find anything, searched windows install disk and can't find it. Driving me crazy knowing my other computer found it just fine.

Nothing is apparently wrong on the hardware side on usb headers or cables or on the reader itself.
