XP Home vs XP Pro

I currently have XP Home installed on my home computers. I just purchased a copy of XP Pro through the hot deals forum for $48. I'm going to install over the XP Home edition, but I'm curious what the major benefits will be. My system is very stable and fast now. Will I gain or loose any of this by moving to the Pro version?

Hmm, just off the top, the "pros" of Pro:

1) Folder/File Syncronization (not available in Home version)
2) Cannot log into a domain/workgroup with Home version (guessing on this)

XP Home and XP Pro are the same operating system. XP Home just has some features "turned off" that are turned on in XP Pro. You won't lose anything by going with Pro over Home. Here are some of the advantages of XP Pro:

1. You can join a Domain, but you can't with Home. Both can be part of a Workgroup.

2. XP Pro supports dual processors, but Home only supports a single processor. Very few people have dual processor machines.

3. Remote Desktop is available on Pro, but not Home.

So from my standpoint, performance and reliabiltiy, I will see no difference?

Thanks!

sep, that's right. XP Pro and XP Home are identical. It's just that Pro has a few more features "turned on." The performance and reliability will be the same.

Thanks...the link HalfCrazy sent me said it all.

FYI...
I have been using the same key for 3 XP Home workstations. I had to call 3 times due to upgrades. Is this because it's the HOME Edition MS doesn't care?
