XP Home password messed up

Leros

Lifer
I just spent 6 hours reinstalling Windows XP home (programs installed, tweaked, etc).

The account is passworded. After installing the Acronis True Image Secure Zone, the computer will not let me login with the password. I dont have time to reinstall windows for another week and I need to use this computer. Is there anything I can do?

I saw on Microsoft.com how I can create a password reset disk, but that requires me to log on to the pc, which I cannot do.

Help

If you did not create a specific user account with the name administrator - boot in safe mode - and you will see an administrator account - log in it has no password and reset the password for that user.
