I just recieved this from a co-worker of mine. Any ideas or anything we are overlooking here?
============
There are two XP Home machines on the network at the Architecture firm on the Plaza that aren't browsing the rest of the network correctly.
They can access the internet just fine, and they can ping the other machines by IP, but when you try to access another machine in the office by the computer name, they can't find machine you are trying to access.
Also, when you try to browse the workgroup through the network neighborhood, an error message is displayed with the following text:
"Workgroup Name is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource."
According to the MS knowledgebase, all computers on the network must have NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled and the computer browser service must be started. I made sure this was true on all the computers, but the problem still persists. Does anyone know of a fix?
