XP home and desktop folders

I have a BIG problem and can't find a clue as to what is up.

When I open a folder on the desktop and right click to bring up the menu it gives me a box saying installing..I cancel out and about a minute later the menu box pops up to show view arrrange customize view properties, the original menu I should have received.


This is on any folder on the desktop.

How can I find out what it thinks its trying to install?
Can I fix this without shooting it?

 
yes I installed an old game...Medal of Honor and the spearhead expansion.
This was about 2 weeks ago if memory serves.
Its not every day I right click on a folder to add something so I am not sure exactly when the first time I saw this ...I think about 4-5 days ago.
