I got some new parts for my computer yesterday (mobo, cpu, mem). After installing them and reinstalling XP on my primary master, it no longer assigns a drive letter to my primary slave drive.
Both drives are NTFS. The drive manager snap-in sees the drive and shows it as a Healthy, Active NTFS volume. When I right click on it, the only option I get is to convert it to a dynamic drive.
I tried booting into the XP recovery console. In there the drive is assigned a letter and I can change to it and I've run chkdsk /r on it twice, but it still doesn't get a letter under XP.
In the recovery console, if I try to cd to any directory other than the root of the second drive, It says access denied.
I had no encryption running on it.
All I really want to do is get some data off the drive.
