Dear experienced Users,
how could it happen, that my XP Homme 32bit SP3 trying to get network address over WLAN from my router BUT all the participants have fix IP addresses?
I switched ON/OFF the DHCP in the router - no effect
I disabled the DHCP-Client Service at XP - no effect
I had twiddle around alot with various services of XP - without any improvements. At least I screwed up my internet connection...:'(
Originally I just wanted to disappear the annoying yellow ball for waiting on network address. When that happened I had to go to the network settings to push simply an OK to the current settings (nothing changed!) and then the waiting for network address sing were gone and was everything fine until the next restart of the computer.
But now I have to fix the messed service settings (what are the default setting for the various services at SP3?) and I think, I have to reinstall my TrendMicro Internet Security programm too. Two years ago it caused a weird internet access problem: only http was allowed but none https. At that time I had to reinstall the TrendMicro completely...
Thanks in advance for your hints, advices or simple helping words,
