XP folder security (I guess)

I'm running XP Home here at work, and I share this computer with the night crew. They erased some files that I had been saving until I had a chance to burn them. Is there any way I can make a folder or anything where I'm the only one that can delete files and such out of it?

not in XP home....unless you each use different accounts and put stuff only in your my documents folder. There's an option to prevent other users from accessing each others doccuments, IIRC

In XP pro, it would be a simple matter of setting a few options on the folder you want to protect.

We each have our own account setup, each with Administrator rights. I can go to the other user's My Documents folders and delete stuff easily. What settings do I need to change?

You can't do it if you all have admin rights. An admin can see every folder on the system regardless of the security settings (he can just change them, and boom, he's back in.)

I'm not in front of an XP box right now...but I know the setting is there somewhere. It won't help you much though.

Heh, sorry I couldn't help you more...just put all of the files in a folder called "DELETE THESE FILES AND I WILL PERSONALY HUNT YOU DOWN RIP OFF YOUR LEG AND BEAT YOU SENSELESS WITH IT" 🙂

Dude you have no idea... I had a couple of movies and some programs that they just deleted..... I could rip their hearts out. 🙂

sublime79, if you've got norton systemworks installed, there is an unerase program you could try to recover some stuff.
