XP Fails to see HDD

I have 4 hard drives. Three are in RAID 0, one is not in RAID. When I try to install XP, it tells me no hard drives detected. I understand why it won't see the RAID, but why not the other one?

The one not in RAID is WD 640gB Cav. Black, SATA. I'm pretty sure I've used it for XP before.

Yes, the drive is recognized during startup and in windows 7.

What's the deal?

If the disk controller is running in RAID mode, then you'll need AHCI/RAID drivers fed into XP for it to see the disk during XP installation.

Rebate, the controller is set to RAID but the drive is not in a RAID stripe.
It worked this way on my last two boards.

Thanks for the help, gents. 🙂
