XP Explorer Error

I have a question for all you computer geniuses: I have a eMachine running Windows XP Home Edition, everything was working fine for a couple months. Then one day when I tried opening up Windows Explorer, or IE, or My Documents, it gives me an explorer error, and it happens everytime when I try to open it. Now when I type in msconfig in run, to run the computer in diagnostic mode it opens it up fine. What can I do to fix this, to make it work in normal mode??? :|
