XP dynamic RAID firewire

I have a 4 drive firewire case, which I would like to convert via windows to a dynamic RAID 0. I have 2 xp machines, is the RAID tied to the exact OS that created it? Or can I move it to my other computer to move files around? My main reason for the RAID is i'm tired of having 4 separate places to look for things, I would rather look in one place.

Also, how many drives does windows support in RAID 0? I will soon have another 4 bay firewire case, I could make an 8 drive ~2TB RAID (my drives are 250GB maxtors)

anybody? Again, I have 4 250GB drives in a firewire case, soon they will be all master, when i get my shipment of firewire bridge boards. I want to make them into one big disk, so JBOD may work, but why not make them striped? My question is will a stripe created by one XP machine be visible on another XP machine? Or is it linked to a particular computer?

i had a dynamic raid 0 setup on my win2k setup. i then re-installed win2k (from scratch) and the raid 0 was still there. i didnt have to do anything for it. take that as you will.
