XP Dual Processor Limitation, and quadcore

Can XP 32bit see and utilize all cores in a quad core processor? or would i need vista?
 
Yes XP can see a lot of cores, can't remember how many (64?), but it's a lot more than they can build. It is however limited to 2 sockets.
 
Yes, the limit is on physical CPUs not cores. Although I believe NT uses an int bitmask to determine which CPUs are available so the limit is 32 CPUs for 32-bit edition and 64 CPUs on the 64-bit release.
