Well after getting a 19" back from repair i decided to try out a dual head setup under windows XP

Using GF2 GTS AGP as primary and a 32Mb TNT2 PCI as secondary I got the system setup just fine.

However.....

After running sucessfully for a few hours i decided to setup Combustion to take advantage of it instantly the PC comes back at me with the dreaded BSOD. Turned off PCI graphics card software loads fine. Decided i can live without it in Combustion. The trouble is it appears to bluescreen in any video application eg Windows Media Player i've even had it dying on a www.gameplay.com page with embedded video

BSOD error is PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA.

Graphics card drivers are 23.12 from windows update.

System specs:

Athlon 1400
Windows XP
512Mb DDR
30Gb, 40Gb, 15Gb IBM Harddrives
GF2 GTS 64Mb
TNT2 32Mb
Intel 10/100 LAN management card
SCSI Card

If anyone can help i'd be most greatful

Windows XP/2000/98 does a bad job with dual monitors using two different brands of video cards.

I assume you set the bios settings so that the AGP vid card is primary.....I've been using a Matrox dual head card for 1 year now and I love it. Would never go back to two cards. You can get a G400 for like $40 on egay nowadays:

Yeah AGP is set as primary, i've had this up and running no bother in the past on 2k it just seems weird that video apps are causing the problem in whatever form they come in.

I'll be picking up a dual head card but probably not till July since i'm waiting on Geforce 4's to drop in price. Seems a bit of a downgrade from a GF2 to G400 i don't think my wolf framerates would be quite the same.
