XP Drivers for NEC Superscript 870

Ever since I installed XP, my superscript prints one page, pauses, prints the next one, pauses... etc. This is new behavior and might have something to do with the fact that NEC's monitor software does not work in XP and I am using default XP drivers.

Does anyone have this printer and if so have you been able to fix the above issue?
 
My 870 hasn't been misbehaving in XP (I don't think it has, at least). Do you have it set for spooling or priniting immediately?
