Xp Doesnt ask for password when sharing files

When browsing in the network neighborhood to my XP Pro computer it is not asking for a user/pass when i connect to it, i am not logged in with the same user name and pass on each computer and the guest account is off could someone please tell me why its not asking for a user/pass.
 
Because there is no security on your XP box. Either:
You're running FAT32, in which case people can access anything that is shared
or
You're running NTFS and "Everyone" has permissions to read your HDD.

Convert your disk to NTFS and make sure that "Everyone" has no access by modifying the stuff found in the Security properties page.
