This is an email from a coworker:
I need some help resolving a poor display issue for a few XP systems with CRT monitors. The display problem is for lack of a better term, over spray. That is everything displayed is fuzzy, or grainy, or likened to an over spray of clear coat finish. A blank Word document, a desktop background, an e-mail, a web site, graphics all are unclear - especially text edges such as a Word document. The issue exists on 3 systems with, debatably, varying degree. I have replaced the monitor, replaced video cards, moved the computer to another room to change the power supply and monitor and lighting, removed hardware, removed XP updates, ran the XP repair, modified and completely disenabled all XP Visual Effects, modified monitor settings and updated drivers, searched MS KB, Googled, and reviewed XP tips magazines, etc. A few Internet tech chat rooms indicate a similar problem but there were not resolutions. If anyone else experiences this with XP or 2000 systems particularly in 1024x768 resolution or has any ideas please reply or call me. Thanks.
Does anyone has any suggestions?
