What is this? I keep seeing this file all over my comp. I see it appearing in folders that I know it wasn't in before.

It's an OS file that describes what components to use to render the current 'view' of a folder in explorer.

i woudln't delete them. they also exist in win98, IIRC. I dont really know whats in them, but they are generally small. deleting random stuff in an OS is not good unless you have a reason 😉

Just windows explorer. They should be hidden by default, just used by the OS. Is there a reason you want to delete them?

No, I just wanted to see if they were important or not. 🙂

you can try renaming them if you want to see.... 😉

I think in the "my music" folder, it gives it the retarded icon and makes windows treat it specially. you dont *need* them, but i think windows also recreates them.
