Is there a setting to turn off in XP Home to turn off a message that pops up when I want to drag a program shortcut from the desktop to the recycling bin that reminds me it's just a shortcut and to use Add/Remove Programs to Delete?

Are you really deleting that much stuff that the message is annoying?

If you want to delete more then one icon at once, just hold crtl. while selecting icons.

I don't know. Try turning off the "confirmation" option boxes under recycle bin properties? That might not prevent the 'add/remove programs' message though.

ctrl-click does not work on the start menu. You could right-click on "Start" and choose Open. Browse to the files you want to delete and delete through there.

Turning off the "Confirmation" in the recyling bin properties did it. In all my years of messing with a pc, I never thought to ever right click on the recycling bin for anything.
Thanks!
