Blue screen paid a visit, said my BIOS wasn't compliant with ACHP. Flashed the BIOS with the latest, now can't get into Windows XP Pro. Can only boot into DOS. I can see the C: drive files by logging into it via DOS, but how can I copy the files I want to a CD-R on the same PC using DOS commands? Is it even possible or am I hosed?

Thanks

I don't know of any DOS software that will allow burning to CDR. Though not impossible it is unlikely that anyone took the trouble to write such a thing. But if there is, it would probably be in the www.simtel.net DOS archives.
.bh.
p.s. Try clearing your CMOS. then on next boot, go directly into the BIOS and make your changes. See if that works.bh.

Norton GHOST boot disk would do the trick. It will span cd's etc. It puts the files in a .GHO file, but with GHOST Explorer, you can extract files out of it..... You may need to get a .sys file for your specific burner, but usually the disk does it all just fine. Email me or PM if you can't come up with a disk. -TAL
