I purchased a Compaq SR1710nx with a maxtor sata drive on it. The computer uses an ASUS A8AE-LE motherboard which was specially made for HP/Compaq.
Here is my problem. I am trying do a clean install of windows xp on the computer. Windows will not recognize the sata drive when I try to install. I read online that I have to load the sata drivers manually during setup or else windows won't detect the drive. Where can I find these drivers? Are there generic ones or are they motherboard specific?
