<< Its just like all the people that call Don and Mike and complain about how much their radio show sucks. They say it sucks but listen every day... Its sad really. >>

Compared to 5 years ago the show does suck but that is a topic for another thread. ;)
I understand the point you are making and it is a valid point however real world considerations do not allow for such black and white stands. I suspect that due to WPA MS has not sold as many copies of XP as they might otherwise have sold. It could be that they anticipated this in their bottom line and as long as the numbers meet what they expected then WPA is here to stay. The fact is companies pay attention to what is being said about their products if they want to stay in business. If enough people complain and a significant number pass up on upgrading due to WPA then I bet it will be a bad memory at some point. I am one of the folks that does not understand why MS does not come up with a home license for X computers at a reasonable price. Had they done this in conjunction with WPA perhaps there would not be the same level of discontent there currently is with XP and WPA.

I agree that they should have a cheaper licensing scheme for home use. But they dont. There is no legitimate reason you should break the rules though. And I cannot think of a "real world consideration" that was not addressed by my apparently "fantasy land responses."
