XP cannot see network shares

I have a few XP machines on a LAN, in the SAME WORKGROUP and most of the machines can see each other except for one which I'll call Joe.

Other machines can see Joe, but Joe cannot see other machines.

When I'm on Joe and I go to network places and then workgroup computers, it hangs for a minute and then says something like "workgroup unavailable, cannot get a list of servers for this workgroup"

I read something about XP Home not being able to see XP Pro shares. I don't have access to the computer right now so I don't know whether it's running XP Home or Pro.

This sounds pretty unlikely, but is it true?

If you would "bothered" to read the content link above you probably would be done long time ago.
