[XP] Can apps be put on an XP installation?

I want to know if applications like firefox and winzip can be put onto a windows XP installation cd so that when I format my computer these programs are already installed. I have a slipstreamed XP SP2 cd done already and i thought maybe there is some way to do programs aswell. this would be handy for me becuase I format my computer fairly often.

Thanks for any help and thoughts.

How about a clean install, all tuned up and tweaked with the basic apps you like. Then image it using BootIt or Acronis. Burn some disks and save the image in a safe place. Instead of a format and re-install, just re-image the hd, copy your saved data back, and you are good to go in less than an hour. Put in a second hd for the image file and it is even quicker.

Yes and no.

You can create installs with applications preinstalled. OEMs do this with their "restore" CDs. They use imaging tools such as ghost, which in fact never actually runs the windows installer.
