I have no idea how to tackle this issue, my xp starts up at xp window, but goes no further, someone please help...
 
Welcome to the Forums 🙂 Do you have a second PC there at the same place as the one that's down? Are you accustomed to taking computers apart, because one idea is to get your healthy PC some good current-generation antivirus software, put the troubled computer's hard drive into the good PC as a secondary drive, and scan it for viruses using the good PC.

What does it do? It shows the Windows XP logo on black, then what? Do you get a login screen? Have you tried booting in safe mode?
