XP Blue screen at boot... occasionally...

aircooled

Accidently posted this in Software so I moved it here...

Every once in a while, I can boot my machine (XP Final build) and get a blue screen saying it cannot find the registry hive. But if I shut down and boot again it works fine, so obviously the registry hive is there. Anyone else experience this??
This just started hapening recently, but I have added no software since the initial install.

maybe its cos ur box's overclocked?

i've encountered something similar on win2k, losing my admin profile when win2k boots up

I guess that could have something to do with it... It's completley stable when it's up, and I ran it oc'd as a win2k box so I wouldn't think that would be it, but I will definatley try it non-oc'd to see if that is the culprit.

Any other's???

Yes, that is definitely a symptom that you run into with XP when you overclock your processor a little too far. If you don't get this problem when it is clocked normally, then the problem is solved.
