I ran fsutil dirty to set that, I manually tried chkdsk /f on C: and it says it'll run on next boot, but it does not. The system boots up fine w/ no prompting.
Any ideas what to check for, the file is there.
I think it may be something to do with diskeeper, the problem seems to have started after I installed that a few mo's ago, so I may uninstall it and fool some more, but figured I'd ask here first.
Did some more searching, might be related to my bootexecute string? I thought it had some strange parms in there like: /?? ... but nope, that's not it, running chkdsk /f puts that there. So that string looks ok. I set it to just the default and it still does it.
Worst part is that in order to see if I fixed it I have to reboot, takes forever. Agh.
I dunno, still looking.
Read these pages so far, no help.
MS chkntfs info
MS autochk info
Thought this one was going to fix it. Says:
but that didn't do it.

Bootexecute seems to function ok, as Diskeeper will try doing a defrag if I set that to run on boot (and it adds itself to that parm) yet it still skipped over autochk. [I didn't actually run the defrag, just doing some tests]. So, I think the problem is with autochk, now to figure out what.

Thought this one was going to fix it. Says:
Chkdsk /f will never run on volumes that are excluded from dirty bit checking by chkntfs. In order to run a chkdsk /f on a drive that has been excluded by the chkntfs utility, you must run the chkntfs /d option to return the system to its normal state or edit the BootExecute value in the registry and remove the applicable drive letter from the /k parameter.
but that didn't do it.
