yep. my roomate runs the demo in XP just fine. have you tried re-installing? how about updating your video drivers.
 
i don't have the game, but i think that it works in compatibilty mode. try going to properties, and then change to a previous os.
 
to help you out better, could you post your system specs? And, are you trying the World Wide combo [single/multi] demo? The first 2 demos [one was single only, the other was multi only] do not work correctly with XP. The World Wide combo demo does..or should.

I'm running the latest xp detonator drivers, tried running in compatability mode, and tried reinstalling, still a no go 🙁

 
don't know wich demo it is, I downloaded it at work, and I can't remember, it doesn't say on the file, just says redfactiondemo.exe 127mb
