XP and IE loosing cached files after XP Crash

Ok I had the Nvidia looping error several times while playing OpenGL Games and XP crashed. IE magically looses all the cached files except my cookies. Does anyone know if this is common and is there a way to fix it?

happens to me when UT crashes coz of some stupid kyro drivers. so i just deleted all my games so no more crashes. i have 2 active consoles with lots of games anyways so it doesnt matter. when i play UT with my clan, i just use my gf's computer so it's all good.
