Got EZ CD Creator platinum, and finally got it all loaded correctly. Things do burn, BUT, when copying an audio CD, the system burns REALLY slow. I have a 24x TDK burner, and it takes about 7 minutes. Under Nero, it only took between 3-4 miutes. The burning seems real choppy compared to Nero also. It seems to burn Data just fine. I have a Pine DVD rom that I use for the original disk to copy. Could that be the problem? Help!

I assume that you installed the xp patch from adaptec. Also if i'm not mistaken there is a patch also on the windows update.

I purchased EZCD and had similar problems on XP. I also noticed that burning some specific VBR mp3's would sometimes reliably produce a coaster. I've had no problems with this same HW and EZCD 4 (dual boot). Roxio said that EZ 5 only supports decoding of 128kbps mp3's, which sounded like bunk. I never figured it out, I ended up switching to Nero.

They offered to send my money back, but I was lazy and never sent it back. I am very satisfied with Nero now, however.

edit - I updated EZ according to the website. When I called their CSR he claimed that their method of updating was buggy (this was about 1 month ago), and asked me do the update again. It didn't make any difference for me.

I used all the patches that were available from windows and Roxio's site. Still, it just stutters along when doing a cd copy.

Nero rocks! - - - Unless you are trying to convert analog media (records and tapes) to digital format for CD recording. Then Nero sucks and ECDC 5 rocks. :)

Has anyone run both Nero and EZCD on XP? I don;t want to run into any problems putting nero back on, but I do want the analog recording of EZ.

DirectCD can be the cause of Nero and EZCD not getting along.
I have both on my system and there aren't any problems.

Yes, they are using DMA. Any other ideas? I went from being able to copy a cd in under 4 minutes to around 6 minutes now.

Win 2000 and EZ CD Creator 4 worked perfectly. I just installed XP on the same machine and EZCDC 5 doesn't work properly. EZ CD Coasterizer.

Nero doesn't seem to want to work either. This is severely @#%@#@#$ me off. :disgust:
