Do you really think some tweak can make your cable connection that much faster? Seriously!

Sure there are probably a few registry hacks already out there, but I really doubt that they'd amount to a measureable increase in spped/bandwidth. Just be thankful that you no longer have to use a modem. I know I am!

Go to dslreports.com, they have loads of info on this. You won't be increasing your speed much, just slightly modifying your MTU and/or MRU settings.

Go to SpeedGuide.net and apply the patches there for W2k (they also apply to XP). I used their registry patches in w2k and they will give you a DSL/Cable boost from 30-300%.

There is also a discussion group there that can answer your questions within 10 minutes of posting and also an Online Settings Analyzer to assist both you and the mods on that board.

Make sure you know what you are doing concerning registry hacks/patches before you proceed. Familiarize yourself first with the discussion forum and what everyone else is doing.

Of course, your results will vary.

Man, don't bother. After I installed XP Pro my speeds went WAY up. Before I installed it with 98 I was having all sorts of problems with my cable modem speeds. I ran a test on MSN and it came back at 44kbs. Ya, thats right, as in as slow as AOL. Now I ran the same test and it came back at 950kbs. I'm liking XP more and more.
