Xp, and administrator rights

OK, I know I should know this by now, But.

I setup an older system for my boys with XP-pro.
I gave them each their own user name.
How do I give them access to programs I install?
Mind you. My user name is the one with Admin rights.
They want to play warcraft.
It seems warcraft only installed under one othe user name besides admin.

look for it under programs and files. Did it offer you on the install to allow for all users? If you need to give them Admin Rights to play the game, which is odd, then you would need to go into the management console. Right Click on My Computer, Users and Groups, Administrators and add your sons.

Put shortcuts to them in: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop. If they're having trouble running the game because they don't have admin rights you may be able to give them full control of the \Program Files\Warcraft directory. If that doesn't work it's probably a permissions issue with a registry key for Warcraft. We had an issue like that with a program where I used to work and giving permissions to the program directory and registry entry solved it without having to give admin rights to the whole machine.

I tried this, Initially it seemed to work. But when the program asks for additional files for patches and such the program tells me it can't fine the needed info.
I went so far as to drop the program folders in the shared folders for all users.
Still no help.

Try adjusting the permissions that the Users group (non-Admins) is allowed to the program's folder in C:\Program Files, and also in C:\Program Files\Common Files and in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data. Give the Users group Write permissions and see if that works. Otherwise you could try Full Control and see if that works.
