XP and 2K: couples therapist needed

Well I'd expect winxp and win2k to work happily and solidly together. Sadly, my upstairs 2k machine and my new downstairs xp machine seem to need some couples therapy. I can't share the printer on the downstairs machine, heck, I can barely get the two to recognize each other. The 2k machine shows the xp machine in network places, but won't access any of the shared stuff on it. And the xp machine flat out refuses to recognize the 2k machine. It recommends installing the sh*tty xp networking wizard on the 2k machine, but the 2k machine says that stuff's only for pussy os's (95, 98, ME). Anyone know any good ideas, or the name of a good couples therapist?

My wife is board certified in couples' therapy, but she only knows how to use Word, and email. So, I'l give it a try.

If you have Software Firewall on any of the computers, disable it and look carefully over the Network?s share settings.

Go over your settings, using the following info:

Windows 2000 Network Sharing.

Windows XP Professional Ed. Sharing Disks /Folders

Windows XP Simple File Sharing

XP File Sharing Trouble
