XP activation/re-activation

Could someone please explain the "waiting" 120 days then installing XP on another computer procedure? Is this worth all the time and trouble?

What if you have to re-activate the first computer? Thanks.....
 
Well..er...I kinda have my copy of XP pro installed on two computers 😉. I just told them I upgraded my system, and I needed a new activation code, which they hapily provided.

Now...the computer that had XP Pro on it originaly (not the one I called MS to activate) got messed up. I had to do a reinstall of XP, and well, what do you know, It let me activate the second computer over the internet just fine. Strange, eh? 🙂
 
Just install it on the 2nd computer and when you call them, tell them you upgraded everything. They will let you activate xp on the 2nd computer.
