XP activation feature

I am part of a firewalled network which makes things awkward to use programs that use anything but 8080 / 1080 ports. Is the XP registration / activation / change anything i whine feature html based or does it go through a secure port. Also would I be able to 'share' it with my family, or would i have to get a diferent licence and would this licence be more expensive than multiple copies of the cd.

i dont see a prob with you activating it
second u can only use 1 per computer
if u want more xp on more pc's u need more legit copies
well if u buy more than 1 u do get a discount only (its like $30 per extra copy for winxp home edition)

I read somewhere you can get a $10 - $15 discount for additional licences. I don't know what you need to do to get the discount.

With the Beta copies of XP you could install them on 2 computers and activate them without any problems (don't know if this is legit, but it worked) You can't do that with the final version? If thats true, I would say just hack it (there are ways to do this) as paying for one copy should be enough 🙂

Yes, it can be done. The moral and legal implications should make you reconsider though. Why? Because paying for one copy is NOT enough. People complain that MS is not a monopoly and has nothing but pristine business practices, then they turn around and ileegally modify Windows so that they do not have to give more money to Microsoft.
