XP activation feature

I am part of a firewalled network which makes things awkward to use programs that use anything but 8080 / 1080 ports. Is the XP registration / activation / change anything i whine feature html based or does it go through a secure port. Also would I be able to 'share' it with my family, or would i have to get a diferent licence and would this licence be more expensive than multiple copies of the cd.

i dont see a prob with you activating it
second u can only use 1 per computer
if u want more xp on more pc's u need more legit copies
well if u buy more than 1 u do get a discount only (its like $30 per extra copy for winxp home edition)

I read somewhere you can get a $10 - $15 discount for additional licences. I don't know what you need to do to get the discount.

With the Beta copies of XP you could install them on 2 computers and activate them without any problems (don't know if this is legit, but it worked) You can't do that with the final version? If thats true, I would say just hack it (there are ways to do this) as paying for one copy should be enough

Yes, it can be done. The moral and legal implications should make you reconsider though. Why? Because paying for one copy is NOT enough. People complain that MS is not a monopoly and has nothing but pristine business practices, then they turn around and ileegally modify Windows so that they do not have to give more money to Microsoft.
