XP & 98 IP Configuration

Hello.

Here i have 2 computers, both with internet through a switch. the switch connects to an ADSL Modem. One computer with win 98 and the other with xp pro.

Both computers on internet have the same IP. The TCP/IP is configurated to obtain the IP "automatically" but ever is the same IP on both computers.

I want to know if i can change the ip to other numbers for both computers and how i do it ??

P.D: Both computers have File & Printer Sharing sucessfully.

From outside the network, it will appear that both have the same IP. From inside the network, its impossible to have the same working IP. You may need to renew IPs within the network.

well..i dont have any other ip.

You can go into the TCP/IP configuration and manually set the IP address for each computer.
