Ok i just intalled my xp-90..but i have a question, does it matter if my heatsink is facing the way so it overextends on top of the memory modules?

Usually. the heatpipes should be facing towards the top, so then the liquid inside of it can cool down, and then get reheated, etc.

But in some cases, like the k8n neo2, that just cannot be done. So the heatsink goes over the memory, which does nothing on cooling the memory IMO...

So pretty much.

if the fan is blowing down on the memory and moving dead air and cooling the memory, how can this not help, at least for slight stability issues. i have always felt that the cooler you can keep electronic equipment the better.

Cause you're pushing warm air from the heatsink onto em?

i need to buy one of those ir temp guns, because i would think that the air coming off the xp90 would be cooler than the air sitting in between the ram......
