Ok, I have used low resource apps like Foxit, Miranda, etc.

1. Disabled all but about 20 essential services.

2. msconfig - stopped all worthless startup programs.

3. Turned off System Restore (default used 10% of total diskspace, which is considerable with 2.5 TB).

4. Turned off Recycling Bin (default used 10% again)

5. Turned visual effects off.

6. Defragged several times using built in defragger.

I have RAM use down to about 240 MB, though I'm checking over Remote Desktop so it might be more like 230 MB.

This is on XP - 64 bit, 4 GB RAM.

Anything I'm forgetting? The one thing I haven't replaced is the built in firewall. I don't know how resource efficient it is compared to others, anyone know?

I can't think of anything, but I want to make sure everything is perfect before I image the disk.

I don't tweak my setups, other than for a couple of personal preference items. It doesn't do any good, and many times causes strange problems.

Well all the things I did are built in options, services are a little bit higher level the disk savings are significant

For a couple of dollars in disk space I prefer to have the ability to recover in case of a problem. Whether a bad driver install, or something I changed my mind about deleting. It's cheap insurance, though ymmv

That you've already wasted more time doing all of that than you will ever save with your performance tweaks.

The truth hurts, listen to the man :) i've said the same to about 20 gentoo users who insist on blabbering about compiling and flags and all that crap :)
