MY GF does mind the idea of overclocking her XP 2700+ Tbred, its on the stock cooler with stock thermal adhesive but it does run pretty cool at 40C idle.

Mobo is a shuttle MATX Nforce 2 board
RAM is Corsair Value Select PC 3200 (Room for overclocking)

Does any have any any experients with overclocking the 2700+ Tbred, its frequency is kindof high allready at 2.17 GHz.

you're not going to get much of an oc with that heatsink, that motherboard, and really that chip. from what ive read you cannot raise the vcore in that mobo, nor change the multiplier (if your xp is unlocked). basically all you can do is raise fsb and change mem timings. i had a similar setup but with a dfi kt600-al rather than a shuttle board. i could only raise the fsb by about 6-7 mhz and keep it stable.

It was not my intent to overclock via raising the multiplier, but just a simple FSB overclock in small incriments. This chip does not OC well at all, but If I could kick it up a few MHz with no side affects, then why the hell not?

You might be able to overclock the FSB by 10 or so, but I wouldn't expect much more. A friend of mine had the 2800+ Barton and he couldn't get the FSB any higher than about 10 above the default of 166.

I have that chip. With a really good heatsink/fan combo, I was able to get mine up to 2.4GHz @ 1.775V. If you have good, dust-free, airflow that is.

A much easier OC is about 2.35GHz @ 1.75.

1.775 pumps out a lot of heat compared to 1.75.
